Acquisitions Programs
The Bangkok representative office of the Library of Congress (LC) is responsible for the collection of materials, both in paper and electronic resources from Cambodia. The Library acquires publications through local suppliers and occasionally visits by the LC-Bangkok Representative to Phnom Penh.
The Cambodian CAPSEA program which is based on circulars started in FY 2014. The serial program started in October 2013. Participants can elect to order titles by subject, type, and/or format. These circulars vary from expensive titles, popular fictions, films, video or sound recordings, and others. The materials from Cambodia will be shipped countries to Bangkok but then from Bangkok with cataloging to CAPSEA and the Library of Congress.
The staff welcome new participants and visits from scholars.
